Nutrition During Pregnancy

Did you know that only 25% of accredited US medical schools require a dedicated nutrition course?*

If you’ve left your prenatal appointments dissatisfied at the lack of direction for nutrition, beyond avoiding alcohol and taking your prenatal vitamin, you’re not alone! Have you wondered if there is more you can be doing to optimally nourish, not only you, but the development of your growing baby? I’m here to tell you YES! As your perinatal nutritionist, I’m dedicated to staying up to date on research-based evidence that leaves you feeling empowered and supported in the nutrition choices you make during, and after your pregnancy. MY APPROAch

Whole Foods

Nutrient Density

Quality over quantity

mINDFUL EATING

Enjoyment

These are just a few values I hold when it comes to education around nutrition choices in your pregnancy. When speaking about whole foods, I simply mean foods that are as close to the source as possible, these will hold more nutrient density (think local farms, vegetables that are in season, etc.) and nourish your changing baby and body more optimally. I also believe you should be able to e n j o y what you eat! We come together with the people we love to share a meal, there is significance in that! Food isn’t just a choice you make logically, but emotionally. I want to support you in enjoying your choices without feeling like it’s a punishment! If you can learn how to listen, I am a firm believer that your body knows what’s best for you. Once you gain an understanding, and adapt your microbiome to more nourishing choices, you’ll feel more confident in paying attention to how your body responds and can begin intuitively eating. Overall, my goal is to educate, empower, and support your nutrition journey through your prenatal and postpartum experience. Let’s connect!
